Hello, I have a question about diet. I am a social worker and unfortunately do not always have the time to always follow the "perfect" diet. I am not looking to gain a ton of mass. I would like to gain a little more; I am more interested in strength. Here is my basic diet as follows. I am having trouble with lunch, can some give me some idea about what to eat at luch.

Breakfast:
Bowl of cold cereal(Life Cereal or Soy Protein Cereal) or Bowl of Oatmeal
Banana
100% Whey Protein Shake
Cup of Black Coffee

Snack-I don't always have a snack as I am full sometimes, but if I do it will be another shake

Lunch-Tuna Sandwhich(1 can of tuna)
now I get lost. Should I eat something like a can of green beans or a can of corn. Would that be a enough.

Pre-Banana w/protein shake
Post workout- protein shake w/4 scoops of powdered gaterade

Dinner-this is always different. An example of what it might be is as follows: Roasted Chicken-had a thigh, leg and breast. serving of green beans and rice pilaf

And suggestions would be great. Thank You Very Much

I eat a can of beans with my tuna. Beans are a great source of carbs and protein (and fiber) and if you get the right kind, they don't taste like crap. Tuna is hard to eat on it's own, so I just mix it in with the beans and then it's fine.

Also try mixing your tuna with some added Flax Oil, you get used to it.

I thought I was the only one that done that. At one of my previous jobs, they laughed and laughed at me.

I also mix my Spinach with beans. I don't like Spinach, but if i want them big forearms, i got's to eats me spinach ;-)

I use whole wheat pita bread and stuff it with tuna salad and fat free shredded cheese. In fact, just pounded one of those a minute ago.

One of the "secrets" to eating healthy at work and on the go is to cook your meals ahead of time. I do most of my cooking on Tues. and Fri. I'll smoke like 10 chicken breasts on the grill with different seasonings. That way I can couple my protein with baked beans, salad, slice it up for sandwich meat, etc. You gotta get accustomed to eating the same thing dressed up differently.

Actually, through the years I have perfected some pretty darn good recipes that are perfect for bodybuilding. My wife has had some major contributions as well, most notably her sugar-free whole wheat bananna almond bread. MMMMM.... Maybe Ill post some recipes when I have the time.
