Diets for the unperfect body

So it seems in the bodybuilding world, even when reffering to beginners, that everyone is already at a low body fat state.
What about us larger men. I myself am at 25% body fat.

It seem most all of the diets and diet tips I see on the boards are for people already at a comparitively low body fat already.

But will these diet work just as well for the bigger guys.
I am referring to diet like carb cycling, refeeding, etc.

Should we even need to cycle our carbs?
Perhaps a strictly Keto diet.

While I realize taking in less calories that I am putting out is the only way to lose weight I am more concerned witrh the efficiency at which this is done..

enough rambling!
any suggestions.?

Over 15% bodyfat, all you really need is a calorie deficit and some exercise. Anything pretty much will work at that point as long as you follow it correctly.

rip, when you have a high bf% I don't see it makes sense to worry about the little details to get a good squeeze..... I think you should focus on the basic things to lose fat in the meantime... then when you are fit you can worry about all these cycling, etc. stuff... as toten said..... exercise and caloric deficit are a must at this stage...... just patience, it will drop.... then you can play around in order to squeeze your body even further

Thanks guys.
SO far I have had between a 500-1100 calorie deficit..
depending on the day and how much I worked out..
Its an average 750 a day deficit.

Patience is not one of my virtues but I have no choice..
Diet, exercise, and wait.
thanks!

you are doing exactly what I did when I was at 26%.... and I went down to 8.5% in 1 go in 3 months !!!.... I tried to keep a 750-1000 deficit, I know it is not advisable that drastic thing but it did not hurt me, if I lost muscles in the process I did not notice it, I did not gain either but it looked as if I did because your muscles get 10,000% more defined

From what ive read thats actually fine. The more fat you have to lose, the bigger the calorie deficit you can create without having to worry about losing muscle, its when you get relatively lean that you want to keep the deficit moderate so you dont lose much lean tissue.

So latinblast

What kind of diet did you follow? Just a calorie deficit?
Did you count you calories to the "t" or did you estimate..

thanks a bunch!
