Normally I use flax seed oil. I was wondering, though, about the omega 3s I've seen in pill form. I was thinking that they must have fewer calories and every little bit helps when cutting.
So, do these pills work the same (or anywhere near as well) as flax/fish oil etc? anyone? Bueller?

You should be taking fish oil, not flax. Most people get plenty of omega-6 in their diet (flax is o-6) - but a lot of people are deficient in omega-3 (ie fish oil). Take at least 6 grams of fish oil a day.

fuzz, flax has more n-3 than n-6. the reason fish is prefered is that it is has DHA/EPA, not ALA like flax. ALA has to be converted to the other two in order to get most of the benefits. flax is useful, but make sure you get fish oil. Also, don't cut calories in EFAs, cut other fats or carbs. Also you should get a vitamin E sup if you take fish oil.
