fat and dextrose

I have been meaning to ask this for awhile now but just have never gotten around to it. According to fitday my fat intake is really high, 40% lots of times. I usually try and keep it around 30% when I am keeping track of what I am eating but just wanted to know if there is any negative effect of having such a high intake? The different types of fats I eat are still relatively balanced, usually with sat. and mono. being the same but slightly higher then poly. by a few %. Currently I am bulking with an intake of around 40/30/30.

I also wanted to know how does everyone measure their dextrose, the women at the store I buy it has told me 1 tbs. is 20 grams but after reading a thread on the avant labs forum I think she is way off. I believe they came up with a tbs. being around 11 grams of dextrose, I'm not sure this is just from memory. Looks like I may have to buy a scale (probably a good investment anyways), or maybe go look for that thread. Unless if any of you know different? I also suppose it would matter on the dextrose as one powder maybe finer then another.

What's the dextrose for that you need to measure so carefully? Creatine?

Sounds okay, as long as you cardiovascular risk factors are okay, then there aint much wrong with it (eating your veggies I hope :D)

As i am too lazy to do much, on fitday I usually used powdered sugar as the estimate.
In terms of dextrose itself, its a pain to find a decent density measure (and it would change as hydration of hte powder changes.) USDA database also only has powdered sugar.

Buy a digital scale

1 level tsp = approximately 4gr
1 round tsp = approximately 7gr
1 heaping tsp = approximately 11gr

1 level tbsp = approximately 9gr
1 round tbsp = approximately 20gr
1 heaping tbsp = approximately 30gr

There are different sizes of tablespoons, others are twice the size of a teaspoon, others are 3 times bigger.

Buy a digital scale

Buy anhydrous dextrose from a drugstore, it's much cheaper and usually of pharmaceutical quality. Many dextrose packages from supplement companies don't even mention whether it is anhydrous or monohydrate.

I won't matter much, though :)
