At a fitness convention, I bought a bucket of whey protein for a very good price. I Haven't heard of the name of the supplement company before (Perfection Sports Supplements), but they're based here in Germany, which boosted my confidence in them, maybe unreasonably so.

Now I have tried some protein shakes. The taste is really delicious, yet the consistency of the shake is not creamy at all, but just liquid like normal skim milk. This is the first time I have ever tried whey protein (this one is supposed to contain isolated lactalbumine). The protein powders I tried before always produced thick, creamy shakes. I'm confused. Do you think the liquid consistency could be a sign that there's not that much protein in the powder after all?

No, that shouldn't worry you. The process may include agglomeration and instantization to improve mixing. In such a case there will be absolutely no thickness. For example, another German company (Hammer) produces a more expensive protein that never gives thick solutions and a cheaper one which absorbs a lot of water. They are both > 97% protein.

Thanks, micmic. :)

By the way, does anybody know whether HSN products can be obtained in Europe/Germany? Then I wouldn't have to worry about quality any more. On the other hand, I wouldn't be willing to spend a lot on shipping and customs, so I definitely won't order from companies based outside the EU. Any websites recommended?
