Anybody try any Hood Milk Products, I bought a half gallon today of their Carb Countdown Chocolate milk, in 1 cup it has 100Kcal
4 Gms fat
3 Gms Carb
12 Gms Protein

Vs. Whole Milk alone (not even chocolate)
150 Kcal
8 Fat
11 Carbs
8 Protein

I haven't tried a glass yet but I hope it don't taste like crap.

They taste just fine! I reccomened the chocolate milk. Ironically, it even has less carbs, coming in at 2 grams only. It's good stuff. They upped the protein content by adding whey protein in addition to the existing milk protein. This would be a great choice if you're trying to stay lean.

I read somewhere that normal whole milk is quite insulinogenic, even despite its low glycemic index.

The only thing i could possibly see wrong with the hood milk is carrageenan, which is an emulsifier in the milk. It's been studied to see if it's a carcinogen. Then again, what isnt a carcinogen?

its the milk protein.

which is funnily enough, what they are adding more of.

I tried it last night in lieu of my skim milk with my PB sandwich, and it doesn't taste all that great, I had to cut it with a cup of skim to make it a little more tolerable.

If you discount the fiber content.

And added Calcium Casseinate.

How about making your own version:
1/2 scoop Driver
60 cal
2 gr carbs
12 gr protein

4 oz. fat free milk
45 Cal
6 gr carb
4 gr prot.

4oz. water

Total:
105 cal
8 gr carb
16 gr protein
Less than 1 gr fat

I use Driver because I prefer the taste, but Primer would be even lower carbs if that's what you're looking for and cheaper.
Of course I imagine you've tried something like this already...

In a round about way I have, but only a serving at a time, I was hoping to be able to make something that would keep for a while. How long do you think it would keep in the fridge?

I would imagine the expiration date of the milk would be the deciding factor, wouldn't it? What else could happen to it, other than some settling over time, which would be taken care of by shaking before use.
