im not a real big fan of supplements in general. if they have been around a while and seem proven like protien powder, creatine (although i didnt see any benefit) etc. then they have a history/track record. but so many suppl. come out every month promising the world and 1-2yrs later do you hear about them at all.
now i enjoy the t-nation forum (up to point) but they are pretty shamless in the promo's for their (biotest) products. take hot rox. its been around for couple years and if memory serves the original was supposed to cut fat while building/preserving muscle. a product like that should have swept the nation and yet a yr later we have max strength hot rox designed to do the exact same thing. and now extreme which promises to do what..... cut fat and build muscle. if you could go back to the orig. ad campaign for hot rox i dont doubt they made the same "magic bullet" claims they are making now.
sorry for the rant. supps have their place but only after youve estab. a solid diet and solid wgt program and even then they are a small part but these never ending fantastic claims designed just to seperate people from their money over and over wear me out.
"book of shadows" is an interesting read that has a supporting story in it about ZMA (another biotest suppl)and how/why it was created. ZMA may serve a legit suppl. purpose i dont know but the book shows how companies create results out of whole cloth and use them to push their products.
alright thats enough time spent on that one.
