How much water should I drink?

How much water should I drink? 1ml per cal, 1L per 60-100g carbs? I have conflicting amounts of informatioin for this question.
 
enough so that you dont dehydrate....
which is hard to determine accurately becuase it is so dependent on many things.
personally i drink 2litres throughout the day with about 1litre during my workout.
i think the guide is enough water to give 6-8 clear urinations per day...whatever that means....
 
Urinary output is a better guide; it will account for water loss from evaporation, even if evaporation is increased from exercise.

If your urine frequently becomes strong and dark (ignoring effects from supplments), you need more water. If you are forced to pass clear liquid every single hour, you need to drink less.
