hydroxycut and fat loss sumplements

I'm in the middle of a long cut (January to August) and although I have done well, I have only went down 1.3% bodyfat. Today, I saw one of those stupid commericals for Hydroxycut and read the fine print on the bottom about test subjects. It says something like 13 lb loss average with Hydroxycut vs 4 with placebo... now is this skewed because of the individuals and exercise/diet plans used?

Is it for real.. will the ephedrine and all that other **** help?

Is it safe.. says resting heart beat can get up to 90... adding to that, I am very athletic, is that a safe combo?

Thanks

Um, depends if its the old hydroxycut with ephedra, or hte new one wihtout.

THe old one was ok, if overpriced, the new one is next to worthless

The new hydroxycut isn't any good. You can still get ephedrine caps and caffeine caps a run a good EC stack for a while, which is pretty good. All fat loss supplements, even when effective, can't hold a candle to diet adjustments and cardio though. Still some seem to be fairly good to add once diet and cardio are good. Omega Sports is coming out with a good forskolin TTA based product.

One thing to consider though is also, when using these products, from the mild ones like forskolin to the extreme decouplers like DNP, adjusting your diet around the supplement helps. Eating carbs on DNP is a big mistake, whereas eating carbs but very low fat on TTA produces good results.

Thanks for the tips guys, I figured it was next to worthless. I'll try to increase my caffeine intake which shouldn't be too hard.

The EC stack is a proven and effective supplement for cutting. But like xahrx alluded to, you shouldn't come to rely on the supplement. It should be there to supplement a diet/exercise routine that is already producing results... course, you already knew that, but I had to say it anyway.

With regards to hydroxycut... I've read some pretty dubious stuff about how they perform their 'studies' about their supplement.
