Kefir

It probably is good for you but it sure sounds disgusting. I don't think I could eat it. I have a hard time eating cottage cheese.

you can drink it and it is rather popular here in europe. one can buy it with all sorts of fruit juices mixed in. My kids love it and it is real healthy.

Re: Cottage cheese. By itself, I also couldn´t eat. But have tried mixing it with frozen berries, some honey, bee pollen, groundup almonds and amino acid powder? THen you don´t even realize it is cottage cheese.

Good recipe for cottage cheese. It's also good mixed with honey, flaxseed, and some fruit (strawberries are good) and blenderized. It's like ice cream that way.

I've found that CC is like tofu, in that it takes on whatever taste you put in it. I usually put some chopped pineapple in mine, but for a real TREAT, just a bit of banana pudding or cheesecake, and you'd almost think you're eating the real thing!
A most decadent illusion for your taste buds!

For the super healthy route; CC over spinach or alfalfa sprouts with some olive oil, pepper and seasonings. Chopped broccoli heads and/or nuts are good too.

CC alone is like eating paste.

Before I went vegan I used to love the stuff. Like Sci says, it is basically liquid yogurt. It would definitely be in my tool kit if I used dairy.

I saw some of this at my local grocery store. They had “Plain” and also had several different flavors like “Strawberry/Banana”. I was tempted to try some but at $2.99 for a 32 oz. bottle I figured my $$ could be better spent else ware.

It looks like the only economical way to use this stuff would be to make your own. But I don’t have time to mess with that.

Isn't Kefir similar to Buttermilk?
Canadian buttermilk tastes exactly like Russian kefir.
