Hi, all! I've found it a bit difficult repeating my 5RM weights in the final 2 weeks, considering that I'm doing heavy squats and SLDLs in a single workout. Difficult in that sometimes my strength decreases and I can only do 4 or even 3 reps in bench presses, or 5 with apparently more effort and deteriorated execution for squats etc. It makes me wonder why Mr. Haycock has proposed going the whole way with 5 RMs (or negatives) on the one hand, still allowing zig-zagging on the less heavier weights. So I've come up with this idea of alternating the weights on the final two weeks so:
Instead of:
I'm thinking of doing this:
So I would be doing only 2 of the 4 heavy exercises at full strength, thus sparing the CNS and allowing it to recover for the next heavier bout. How's that? Thanks.
