Immediately WO after I have a low carb protein shake, then approx 20mins after I have a meal of pasta and chicken. Then about 20mins after that I have a can of diet coke and a mars bar.

I tell myself the coke and mars bar is good because it causes an insulin spike and thats a good thing.

I have no idea whether thats true, I just say it so I don't feel guilty gorging on my mars bar.

So, my question is, am I right or wrong. Should I stop eating my mars bars?
 
You're dabbling in insignificancies. (Err, I mean it probably doesn't matter to any great degree unless this is one gigantic sized mars bar).

You don't really need 'extra' insulin after you've just had a meal of pasta and chicken. However, if you're not gaining significant fat mass, it's probably not such a big deal to include the candy bar. On the other hand, if you're gaining too much fat (I assume youre trying to gain muscle), then you know the first thing that needs to change in your diet.
 
i mostly agree with king protein, but a mars bar has what, 200 calories? approx that i think. besides the fact that you dont need an "extra" insulin spike, why not have something else that feels you up better like a cup of brown rice, or 4oz chicken. just my opinion
