post workout meals

I take a pre-workout shake (whey + dextrose + maltodextrine)

Then I take about 10 gr of dextrose + maltodextrine 30' into the workout, to maintain energy

As soon as the workout finishes, I take my creatine. The particular brand (CellMass from BSN) states that it should be taken imediatelly after the wo, on empty stomach and then wait 20' before ingesting other food.

20' later I have my post-workout drink (same as the pre-workout).

1 hour later I have a similar post-workout meal (some cheaper whey and less carbos).

1 hour later I have oats + whey.

1-2 hours later I have another solid food meal.

Do you agree with this strategy? Should I take my post-wo drink immediatelly after the wo, together with the creatine?

The 2 post-workout drinks make me feel uncomfortable. I feel very hungry and gives me diarrhea.

Why would you ever have an empty stomach after your workout? Unless you are like, doing fasted cardio in the AM or something. But... if you just had a preworkout shake, no way in hell is your stomach empty unless you just did a several hours long workout.
Seriously, these supplement companies are retards. "Take this on an empty stomach, post-workout, de dee dee."

It won't really matter, but sure, you could do that if it makes you feel better. It won't really effect your progress at all.

Then eat after your workout instead. I just take a nice size protein shake before my workout (sometimes) then eat dinner after my workout. Lately, I don't even have protein shakes that often unless it's before bedtime and I haven't had enough protein for the day, then I take one to get my protein/calories up. Hasn't hurt my progress one bit.

I do take a pre-workout drink. Plus little carbos about 20-30 minutes before the end of the workout.

My main question is this: I read everywhere that I should eat the post-workout drink immediately after the wo. But if I follow the CellMass instructions, then I have to wait 20 minutes.

1. So the first point is that you won't ever have an empty stomach after your workout, which leads to the second point...

2. It won't matter. You will still have protein in your gut from your preworkout shake, the post workout shake will just be adding to what is already in your stomach.
So if taking your shake immediately after workout is what suits you, do it. Personally, I like to wait a short while at least, or it tends to upset my stomach. Usually this ends up being the amount of time it takes me to cook my dinner. Hasn't hurt my progress at all.
Find out what works best for you. The timing won't make much of a difference since you will just be adding the post workout shake to the contents of your stomach, which will not be digested for quite some time.

You have to realize that the instructions on the CellMass were written by morons, so just disregard that. I wouldn't even recommend taking CellMass at all, but some people prefer it to plain creatine monohydrate.

The argument for the "2 hour window" has opinions on both sides, but the point is moot since you've taken in protein prior to the workout and there is no catabolism going on. I think the simple formula is whey and simple carbs around the workout, (pre and post if you wish) and complex carbs with protein around an hour later, but that's not cast in stone either. I do it that way because I'd rather be safe than sorry. I also don't care for a gut full of mush.

The only time I take supplements is before and after a workout. I take some carbs and maybe some NOxplode to give me energy before a workout. And then after a workout I drink whey powder and milk (about 50 grams of protein). Other than that I just eat all day and try to keep protein intake high.
I usually drink milk before bed so the casein will slowly release aminos while I sleep.
Honestly though I really don't think too much about it. I just eat.

Take this with a grain of salt (bad pun), but my trainer said there is a lot of good evidence out there that sipping a juice/protein powder shake during your workout is perhaps the most beneficial thing you can do. I'll leave the scientific explanations to those who can do so effectively (which is NOT me!), but I can't argue with results. I always sip my little concoction during each workout.

Lyle's recent newsletter on "Milk as an effective post-exercise rehydration drink" makes for an interesting read.

About 15 mins prior to a w/o I have a whey, fruit juice and creatine concoction. About 15 mins after a w/o I have a shake of 1 pint milk, 3 scoops whey and a banana (sometimes I throw in a couple of raw eggs if I won't be eating for a while). After dinner and before bed I have a milk, fruitjuice and whey shake plus a multi-vit, some extra vit C and some cod liver oil capsules.

I try to get three good meals a day and snack on nuts, seeds and cottage cheese. I take some flax oil with one meal (if I remember). That's it. No fuss or bother and it works well for me.

My main question is:
1) Should I follow the CellMass instructions and take CellMass immediately after the wo. Wait 20' and then have my post-wo protein shake?
2) Or add the CellMass into the po-wo shake and drink it immediately after the wo?
