Hello everyone.

I have a question concerning the use of protein powders.

I have recently bought a protein powder : it is the first time a use protein powder.

I mix it with milk but i don't like the taste...

my protein has a chocolate flavour.

have you got any idea to improve the taste ?

If you have a personal technique or even a recipe

, please tell me !

thanks

Yeah, buy some vanilla powder. Also, protein powders vary in taste and sweetness, also in bioavailability. You buy yours at Wal-mart? I didn't like theirs either.

To get rid of what you have, you might pour it over cooked oatmeal or something. Don't cook the powder itself; there is supposedly a breakdown of the proteins over 110 degrees or something like that.

Go with a vanilla flavor so you can alter the tastes easier. You can add banana's, strawberries, peanut butter......

As for your chocolate....Try mixing it with water and see if that changes anything. Other than that I'd go with quadancer suggestion.

Another idea (for the rest of this batch) is to alter the amount of milk you're using. That way to can make it thicker (more taste) or weaker (less taste).

Now THAT'S a good idea! As an odd thought, back when I was a coffee addict (I just drink tea, milk and water now) I found that a banana tastes really good with a cup of coffee. I still add bananas to my shakes when bulking, so that would go well with chocolate I bet.

hello guys and thanks for your answers !

I wait another ideas !!

Even if you have a cake or another thing to mix with protein , it will be great if you tell me yours secret about that !!

I buy my protein in bulk from trueprotein.com and get it unflavored. Then I just order the flavorings that sound good to me with it and I mix it in with each drink. I like it that way becuase I can mix and match as well as increase or decrease the loading to my tastes. If I find one I dont like it was just a couple bucks and I dont have to throw protein out or just grin and bare it.

You could order some chocolate flavoring and add it in to enhance the preexisting taste. Black star labs chocolate flavoring tastes like brownie batter.

keep in mind not all protien drinks taste the same. many of the suggestions above sound like they would work, especially to change things up now and again but i dont think your asking for too much to want a pro. shake that tastes good.

maybe its just choc. thats not your taste. for me choc. is the only flav. that is palatable but ive come across brands where even choc. is terrible.

none of us are made of money but as time goes on buy a diff. brand in a flav. you think youd like (smallest possible size).  personally ive had good luck w/dymatize brand (choc. of course) as i like the taste (milk or water) and it mixes very well w/just a shaker cup.

im sure eventually you can find what your looking for and then youll be set.

good luck

also, give the taste a chance to grow on you before you quit on it. 1st time i tried mine w/just water i thought no way! after a few servings i got used to it to the point that when i went back to milk in the shakes i thought no way! you get the point.

In the UK the best protein shake I've found only comes in an unflavoured version...at first this bothered me a bit but now I just mix it with water and get it down. It doesn't taste bad...just neutral really.

Obviously if it bothers you look around for one you like but unless it's absolutely disgusting I say just mix it with water and get it down you. Once that lot's finished you could look for a different flavour but as I said I've just settled on unflavoured.

Cheers

Rob

One way I use an unsweetened, unflavored powder is to sweeten it with Stevia, my favorite natural plant sweetener. It does have a side effect on some people by tasting a little like licorice tho. But I like licorice.
