Protein-timing???

The products sold by HST is a primer taken before workout and a driver after. Is that ideal?

I mean, Taking the primer before makes sense, but since whey (in the primer) is absorbed within 30minutes, then when the 1hour long workout is done, you won't have any protein in your body, and the casein in the driver wont be absorbed before 3 hours have passed...
Wouldn't it be better to take something like the primer before AND after, and then the driver a bit later???

Whey peaks at 30mins, it doesnt take 30mins to appear. Two different things

Casein also peaks at ~30-60mins, however the peak is lower, but hte legnth of time amino acids are raised is much longer

if we are just training with weights and want to drop some fat is it better to have just whey pre and post..or do we need carbs as well.

I do stick with the carbs post because a mixed meal is better fr recovery and post workout fat storage isnt much of an issue?

As long as you keep your overall calories in line, it won't matter that much whether you get carbs postworkout or at some other time.

faz: I think Tot was agreeing with style but just meant that having carbs in your post w/o drink wasn't going to cause a problem with fat reduction as long as your overall daily calorie intake was in deficit.

Exactly. Though personally, during a cut I tend to stick with whey post workout, and only add in the carbs preworkout if I feel like I need them. Working out on a cut can really suck if you are carb depleted.
