SD for a month - how would it effect things?

Let me jump here and make sure I understand this.

We now think SD does not do a lot for deconditioning the muscle...but its stil good to do.

Also if I read this correctly we think its better to start with 80% of our max and stay there for a workout or too and then move up instead of progressing every workout...and starting with lighter weights?

I agree with mikeynov. I usually SD for 2 weeks, just to be on the safe side. I don't know for sure, but 2 weeks completely off seem to have some deconditioning effect on the muscle...

I just came back from an unwanted month off. It's hard getting back, much lighter weights now feel much heavier, probably more effective if percieved effort is any indication.

I definitely got deconditioned during my break. How will it improve things for this training cycle? I don't know yet.

All workout and no SD makes Billy Bodybuilder a smaller guy.
