stopping before failure

this week is my last week of 15 rep ranges and friday will be the first day I should go to failure on all my exercises. Ok, here is my dillema...in order for me to avoid zig zagging on my db presses, today and friday, i'm doing my max weight for db press and I was wondering if I should stop a rep before failure in order to save it for friday? Responses are appreciated.

regards

Theres no reason to avoid zig zagging especially if the weights you are using are too heavy. And really you really should not be going to failure on friday either. You should be doing your rep maximum.

If I were you I would repeate the weights you used monday and go heavier on friday.

If you dont like that advice. Cluster the set. Stop short of failure, rest a minute and complete the set for 15.
