straight sets or myo-reps/max-stim

hi, i'm abt to start the 5s cycle. i was wondering, is it more productive to do straight 6x5s, or do something like myo-reps or max stim, like 1x15+2+2+2 3 3+3 3 3 4 4 4 4 5 5 +5?.
since its the start of te cycle,i can go more than 5 reps.
also, is 30reps a good plan?, this is to keep vol.and keep the only changing variables as the weights. or is it still effective if 2 viaravles change(weights and reps)?...thanks alot all!

Well myo-reps would probably be more effective than doing actual sets since your muscles will be fully activated for more total reps using myo-reps than with straight sets.

could you do Myo-reps for 15's, 10's, 5's, 5RM's? Or would it be best for the 5's and 5RM's, or just the 5RM's?

Sure you can. It's just another way of getting the reps in and make sure you'll get enough stimulation. Vanilla HST uses straight sets, while MyoReps uses rest-pause. During 15s and 10s it's even more efficient, as you won't have to perform a lot of 'ineffective' reps before full muscle recruitment is achieved, past the initial activation set. That's the beauty of MyoReps. However, vanilla HST is simpler.
Edit: When you reach 5s, there's not much use of MyoReps, as you have full recruitment from the first rep. Then it migth be simpler to use max stim instead, especially when increasing the load closer and closer to your 1RM and beyond (eccentrics).

Cosign.

10 reps and above is when I would use myo-reps. When using 5 RM loads, you don't need to and in fact it's dang hard to do it without it ending up looking like max-stim anyway.

I just finished a regular cycle of HST and now just had my week off of SD. (I can't say I was wow'd with results so maybe I did something wrong... I did gain some weight but I think a lot of it was fat since my gut seems bigger.) I did like the program, though, and plan on doing the next cycle starting tomorrow.

The myro-rep approach seems interesting and I'd like to try it. I only briefly researched it based on the link provided in this thread. I'm curious though on how to set this up for doing my 15s and 10s...

It seems like I should do my first normal set of 15 then wait 10 seconds and do sets of 3 with a 10 sec rest between each set of 3. I take it during the second sets (after the first primer set) I keep going until I'm close to failure? I do this for all exercises that are practical (squats maybe being the exception.)

Do I have the concept correct? Anything else to keep in mind when trying out these myo-reps with HST?

TIA
