stress sucks

I had a really stressful day at work, result:
no appetite, could hardly eat, probably catabolic hormones, low energy level, felt like crap, couldn't workout, probably lost lean mass. BLAHHH!@*!

I usually eat between 3000-3500 calories day, probably ate about 2000 today. makes me wish I was independently wealthy, or was a pro who could devote all my time to sleeping, eating and exercise. Oh well, tomorrow is another day.

Just wait until you've just about reached your maximum potential. Any little thing can totally screw you up and ruin a workout so that you have to use lighter weights.

Protein shakes really help out on those rough days where you don't get enough cals.

Sci,

Don't panic bro...I doubt you are going to shrink that fast!

Just get back on track as soon as possible.

Or you could just get on a anti stress pill they are great for bulking...( im just joking)

however they do make you gain serious mass.

Yeah, stress sucks donkey dong. I try to avoid it at all costs, even if it means slacking on my daily duties.

<div></div><div id="QUOTEHEAD">QUOTE</div><div id="QUOTE">here's hoping you never have an extended rough patch like getting dowsized or divorced.</div>

There's actually at least one good thing about getting divorced. Studies have shown that recently divorced men show a dramatic surge in their testosterone levels (probably out of a biological need to find another mate again, after being freed from the shackles of monogamy). Also, even when that initial surge tapers off a little, single men have been shown to have higher testosterone levels than their married counterparts.

But getting downsized... now that just plain sucks across the board.

I understand your loss of appetite when under stress. I've had a very difficult past few months myself. The last few days were the worst ever. I totally didn't want to eat at all yesterday. I managed to force three meals down and just chose the highest calorie stuff I could find.

I don't know if it could be helpful or not, but for me a big stress reliever yesterday was simply when all the necessary things were done to just chill at home with my wife and kids, spending time with them. Then when the kids got tired of dad, I let them do kid stuff and just spent some time reading and posting on the net.

Today, I will get rid of more stress in the gym. Tomorrow, more still on the bag. After that, some time at the range burning up a couple of hundred rounds will be rather relieving.

If it wasn't for doing these things, I would have gone nuts over recent months. Probably worse over recent days.

These are the things that help me. I don't know your situation or if they will help you or not.

It occurs to me that it might be a good idea (if you can afford it) to put a tub of that Mass gain powder on your shelf, for those times when you're sick, tired, stressed, etc. and don't feel like eating- at least with a quick drink you'd be getting in a huge number of calories, protein and carbs.
Stuff makes me fat otherwise.

I eat when I'm stressed. a package of Oreo's wouldn't be a big thing ... Half a loaf of bread, peanut butter and jelly... half a dozen donuts...

Thank God I haven't been that stressed in a long time.

I think we can take a leaf out of the women's book here, what do they do when they get stressed? Get a ice-cream and chocolate. That'll help you with your catabolism Sci.

Oh yeah, and protein shakes to I suppose...
