for some reason i can't tolerate Cottage Cheese !
very frusterating ... and weird. what does CC have that Milk doesn't ? i drink a huge amount of milk everyday. i've found that Skim milk has the same effect on me as CC ...

anyway i need a substitute. what about yogurt-cheese ? 10g protein, 110 calories, 3% fat. does it contain the same amount of casein ?

thanks

CC is made from milk, so the only thing that it has that milk doesnt is additional salt and some rennin...
Normal milk and skim milk are idential sans the fat content.
Yohurt cheese will contain ~80% casein, but does it give you the same issues as skim/CC?

there are also a whole magnitude of other proteins out there that taste good as well...

yeah it really puzzles me
what could it be ?
one spoon of cottage cheese and i'm runnin to the bathroom with a thumb in my @$$ (NO HOMO)

hmmm milk has a moderate to high gi...but since you will drink it before bed and for most folkes after workout you should be fine? or maybe complex carbs would be more beneficial...?

If it's only from skim and cottage cheese, then it can't be lactose intolerance, right?

Also, I don't believe milk has a high GI at all. I recall it actually being pretty low. Though a lot of sugar is listed on the nutritional fact table, doesn't that all come from lactose, which happens to cause a very small spike in insulin?

Milk has a low GI, but a moderately high II. THe low GI is due to the lactose mainly (in skim), and the high II relates to the protien (predominantly whey)
Its not worth worry about

Mix of whey and casein, not sure the exact ratios (although 80% casein is stuck in my head for some reason! may be wrong though)
