Terrible, Horrible Gas - Do you get it?

Since I started my new bulking diet last week, I have had bad gas throughout the day. Is this normal for a body builder during a bulking diet which includes lots of skim milk?

My daily diet consists of 3/4 gallon skim milk, 1 can tuna, 1 can salmon, 2 chicken breasts, 1 small serving cottage cheese, 2 servings vegetables, 2 servings of potatoes, 3/4 cup raw steel cut oats, 3/4 cup raw rolled oats, and 2 bananas.

To supplement this, I take about 5 scoops of ON whey protein (spaced evenly throughout the day) and 1 scoop of ON casein protein.

Thanks in advance. I am not looking for a cure to my gas. The milk causes it, I assume, and I can't give that up in my diet. Just looking for some emotional support I guess! You guys rock - thanks in advance.

Do you get pains? You may be partially lactose intolerant. You could try something like Lactaid to aid its digestion if that's the case. I was also raised not to ever mix seafood with milk (for unknown reasons I didn't want to discover myself) so I never do it.

Also....whey protein has been known to give me gas from hell. So that may be the source for you too.

If it started since you began this new diet, chances are it's the cause. Any of those items could be causing gas if you are not accustomed to eating them. So I would say it's normal, and your body will most likely adjust over the next several weeks. On a side note, you may also notice that your balls and as*hole stink after a heavy workout.

People refer to "gas" in two ways. Gas I believe, is referred to as the abdominal type built up in the stomach and is quite painful. But when all you do is cut the cheese from drinking whey and milk (actually high protein diet alone does it to me), I wouldn't think of that as "gas".

That is more like "secret weapon", especially when you can pull the covers over her head for a little revenge.

You're probably just eating too clean. Dirty up your diet and the gas won't be so bad. Eating clean is bad for you, bro.

That takes the fine art of subtlety but once mastered then you have to master not bursting out in laughter as everyone looks around for the culprit.

Timing is perhaps the most crucial of all.

A guy takes the bus home from the gym and it's really crowded, so they are standing there holding on to the straps when he cuts loose this long, loud, megahorrific buttblast.
He leans over to this little old lady next to him and says in a loud stage whisper: "Look innocent lady, and they'll all think I did it!"

Should I take fiber pills (like methylcellulose) to clean up the farts?

Thanks everyone for your replies. My body seems to be adjusting a little bit, and they are not as eye-rollingly terrible. However, I am noticing that if I take caffeine pills, the gas get terribly worse. So I am sticking to the coffee and skipping the No Doz for a few days.

To clarify - I do not have any abdominal pains. I think I just needed to adjust to the new food. Thank you again for your replies. This forum rocks!
