    Getting Back Into Hst

Seems these days everyones training 5-6 times per week and doing 4-5 exercises per muscle group and all that. No one I know from this forum does that or even suggests it. That is usually reserved for bodyweight only programs.

    Consecutive Vs Non Consecutive Days

Simon, slow and painful. The grafting occurs at only about 15% per month so I am out of the gym until Oct or so and then very light. Thanks for asking.

Ah Ha, Think I Caught On To Something....

I split my full body workouts into two sessions per day. Typically my sessions are each about 20 minutes. I have the luxury of a home gym and am retired so that makes it easy for me to do and cuts down on fatigue.

    Rest-pause Instead Of Normal Sets...

I completely agree with Blade except I use ranges of 20, 15 and 10 as heavy weights are more likely to cause injury at my age.

    Consecutive Vs Non Consecutive Days

Interesting studies questioning the need for recovery days. As with all studies, the conclusions are generic, based on limited data and may not fit you particular circumstances. Not sure if these have been talked about on here recently but have been away and not caught up on all the threads yet...

Ah Ha, Think I Caught On To Something....

Progressive load. Nothing more, nothing less. There are many ways of achieving this. 15, 10, 5 is just one example.

    Hey, What About Unplanned Increments?

It is more about the starting point. Higher increments only mean shorter cycles and sooner SD than lower increments given the same starting point. Set the increments based on the length of cycle you want after determining a starting point that is sufficient to induce fiber activation. When I...

    Hey, What About Unplanned Increments?

That is still adhering to the principles of HST. Just a different template.

    Hst Cycle Duration.

Sure but you have to adjust for your body and its ability to recover and that is based on many, many variables. I don't know of any "program" that fits everyone. They are all just starting points to be refined.

    Hst Cycle Duration.

Certainly would not work for us old guys.

Bryan, What Are Your Thoughts On Higher Frequency Training?

Good news Bryan. I know both you and Blade have been doing some work on occlusion. Hopefully that will become a topic here and energize everything and everybody.

    Body By Science

I remember at one time that Mr. Arrogance, Mentzer, was recommending one set of DB curls for 2 reps at a total and complete failure weight once per 10 days. He tried to make up for it with drugs but died a lonely broken man in his 40's. So did his brother. Another death on Weider's hit list.

    Myoreps?

I can't lift because of rotator cuff surgery but I have 5 months to plan my next cycle so I just ordered the book and will be reading it on the beach in Cancun!

    Long Time No Hello

Hey Sci! I'm going into my second month of a forced 6 month SD due to rotator cuff surgery. You finally hit 40 eh? LOL. I will turn 73 in June and was still lifting a combo of HST and Myo reps until March. I think all those behind the neck presses that were the gospel in my first 40 years of...

    4th Cookie Cutter Cycle

Good to hear from you Borge. I agree with you about Gironda. He is most famous for his drunken tirades in his CA gym. Dan seems to have disappeared about 10 years ago. I heard from him via email once but nothing again. At almost 73 years of age, I still use your myo reps alternating every 6...

    your results with HST...

This is natural if you have changed to a low carb diet. Your body will normalize usually in a couple of weeks but it is a rough two weeks. Be sure you have increased your protein intake in your calculations so as not to lose much muscle and, despite many nay-sayers, it is even possible to gain...
