IMO, you should deload first, since you kept saying how fatigued you were feeling.

Yeah, I would recommend you throw in something for the mid/upper back because it wouldn't be wise to neglect your back. In fact, strengthening your back will have a positive effect in mitigating pain and weakness due to your injury. Is it a herniation?

Is there anything you can do for back? Do overhead exercises like pullups or lat pulldowns aggravate the injury?

5'10" and under 150lb is extremely light. You can see my ribs clearly when I'm 150lb and I'm only 5'8". If that's an option for Candito's program and you follow it to a T, then sure. If it's not, don't mess with the program. Stick to what he prescribes. Aim for 1lb/week BW increase and keep...

I see that you've only gained 4lb in the last 3 months. That + program hopping is probably the culprit. You're also only 144lb. How tall are you? Your push/pull, volume-paloza custom thing is not the answer. You don't need to pause squat or pause bench either with your #s IMO. You need to...

Bench: 220lb x 1, x 1, x 1, x fail I want to take a step back for form's sake and my shoulder joints (which feel a little achy lately) and work on leg drive and stability. Did a couple of sets from 135lb up to 175lb bringing the feet a bit more in front of me to improve the leg drive so for...

    Elliot Hulse's Advanced 5x5 - Thoughts?

Oh, I don't think he did it for the money. He probably makes less considering his Youtube monetization (of course that may have not ended as people still watch his videos...don't know Youtube's policy on inactivity from partners), but at the same time, straying from an open forum like Youtube...

One cue to help with the torso is to focus on keeping your elbows up as high as possible throughout the movement. I own the Powerlifts too and the heel is only like .55," so they're not that great for anything olympic like a front squat, but they're doable.

    Powerlifting Shoes

If I remember correctly, a class-action lawsuit was won against the company because they made a bunch of claims that the shoe would strength the foot and leg, etc, but doesn't provide any evidence to back it up. Funny because I bet you half these people frequent the supplement section of their...

    Elliot Hulse's Advanced 5x5 - Thoughts?

He preached all this "don't care what other people think" stuff and then some of his videos get lambasted by a couple of fitness commentators and he quits Youtube and now does body energy seminars. Snake-oil salesman if you ask me.

    Elliot Hulse's Advanced 5x5 - Thoughts?

I wouldn't take Hulse's advice on anything. He's strong but the guy has stated multiple times that he values anecdotal experience over empirical evidence, not to mention he peddles all of that "body spirit energy" shit (does paid seminars on it now).

    Powerlifting Shoes

I deadlift in these because gym staff doesn't like people being barefoot in the weight room and because I don't like sumo deadlifting without something on my feet for traction. If you guys don't like Vibrams (because they're ugly), Vivobarefoot is definitely a worthy alternative. They make a...

5'8", 175lb (-1.5lb-2lb) Squat: Today I decided to change up my low-bar squat. I through off my Adidas Powerlift 2.0s and put on my flats, took my stance out significantly, and worked up to 3x2 @ 275lb. Happily, strength didn't seem to diminish much at all and considering that my eccentric...
