    Ab training?

Yes, the iliopsoas, a muscle worked to often when trying to hit the abs. Especially in boxing training. As for the question if HST effective when it comes to abs? I must confess for me it isn't. Every time i try it i loose enormous amounts of strenght and size. I can't seem to understand why...

    All heads

Not completely on topic, but since we're talking biceps peaks here.. I was having a discussing with two physiotherapists the other day about bi&triceps peaks. My left and right are totally different (which of course is natural in a way, but..) my right is more completely developed from...

    2 day split

Well, that's the question, will the double volume work for the better. You say it will, i'm not sure. But i haven't tried it yet, and i think i will. By the way, i forgot to mention. I'll be training 4 days a week with this split. As in ABXABXX As for warmup. Training back should be a...

    2 day split

Ok, here's a very basic question. If you'd divide your muscle groups in two as follows: 1. chest, shoulders 2. leg, back where would put the bi&triceps? PPP

    How to shrug

Randy, I asked Kate the vary same question about a week ago, because my gym lacks dbl's which are heavy enough. I've found that with proper form doing shurgs using a bar (or smith in my case) actually feels better on my shoulders. PPP

How much protein powder per day?

Oke, interesting info guys. Thanks Micmic, Bryan. I must say i too never was able to find any evidence for liver (or kidney for that matter) damage due to high protein intake, but various doctors claim so anyway. Therefore i was worried. But nolonger. ;) Pieter

How much protein powder per day?

I doubt i'm the only one who's concerned about his liver. Or is there no harm in eating large amounts of protein daily whatsoever? PPP

How much protein powder per day?

What about protein intake on work out days compared to non work out days, can there be a noticeable difference? If you'd choose to have a difference, best to fill this gap on non work out days with fat, or carbs? Maybe a silly question, but i must say i find it hard to consume 2 grams per...

    Good article on shoulders

Hi Dianabol, Actually my initials stand for Player Pete, since some ladyfriends call me that. I used PP on thinkmuscle, so i added a P on here. ;) My situation is as follows: first of all, my shoulder is not in any pain whatsoever right now. However, it has slightly hurt on occasions for a...

    Good article on shoulders

Referring to this article: what would be the best way to approach shoulder imbalance? Taking a full break from training? I've never neglected any of my body parts. But, i think due to to the fact that my right arm has simply developed differently than my left (much stronger), my whole right...

    Diet and Acne

To me it feels as if i increase my protein intake in my diet i have slightly more acne than usual. Even if the additional protein is made up of protein shakes, which include virtually no fat or carbs. Lots of people have also told me that taking those amino acid pills can cause (severe) acne...

    Timing of Overfeeding

Calkid, It's the same conclusion i came to after reading Lyle's interview. Seeing the fact your body is busy restoring glycogen after your workout, after which it will grow, carbs is key. Now about these ratio's. Would it be unwise to replace some of protein post workout by carbs and vice...

    about eggs:

André, The BAS as in "Bas van der Heijden" supermarkt, or Dirk van den Broek, which i believe is part of the chain as well. You don't know those? Cheaper than C1000 and still good quality. :) "Viergranen ei" is another good one, i don't know about the amounts of good fats...

    about eggs:

    about eggs:

Andre, Eggs do have some good fats, omega-3 and omega-6 to be precise. You're Dutch, so try to buy "het ei van Columbus", which has a relatively high amount of these good fats (and isn't that much more expensive). Personally i would never eat them raw. Pieter

Part III of Lyle McDonald interview is online

Interesting interview. I'm by no means an expert on dieting, but i was thinking, if one's goal would be to lean out, but still grow as much as possible, how about the following: lower your carb intake on training days, and eat relatively more protein (but eat a below calorie maintaince...

    Pre Exercise Nutrition timing

Thanks for the input guys. So summarizing, i think we can say that: first of all, it's very personal on when to eat, secondly any easily digested and small quantities of food won't hinder your performance. Thus, the proteine shake with simple carbs, as suggested by Bryan, indeed is perfect...
