    Increment size

I think it's important to increase your weights every workout, and you can only do this if you start out each cycle with extremely light weights, relative to your strength, or use smaller increments. Obviously your increments are somewhat limited by the size of the weights in your gym. In mine...

Oh man! I don't want to hear that. Don't know if I can wait that long, but I'll try.

    your results with HST...

I just finished my second HST cycle, though I cut it off after the 5's because I feel like I'm beginning to overtrain. I think what I've been doing wrong is pushing each set too close to failure which is the downfall of this program. I have not been sleeping well and this is a sure sign for me...

    O/T Mr. Olympia this weekend

It will be on InDemand live at 8pm Pacific tonight. $30. Anyone with digital cable should be able to get it. (Not on DirecTV tho.) They will also be rerunning it all weekend. You'll probably be able to find a torrent of it not long after that. I want Jay to win as well. It's not about being the...

I want to eat 14 egg whites a day.  What are the

Wow, a buck for 16 eggs is cheap, but I don't think 16 egg whites is quite 100 grams. It's a little under 60. I just bought a ten pound tub of whey protein powder which I hear is superior to egg protein, for about 44 bucks. That's about 87 grams per buck. So for about the same money, you get...

Does HST work on a split routine?

The routine you outlined is a more conventional style and designed to permit you to take each bodypart to failure, then give it a full week to recover. I've seen this type of program called MaxOT, or maximum overload training. It's good because you give your CNS a full 48 hours to recover from...

How can I skip the 15's?

I would not skip the 15's. I'd just start the whole program over. Each 2 week macro cycle has an important role in the program, so as long as you're doing a 9 day SD cycle, you should start back with 2 weeks of 15's.

what do You thing about pullover??

Well, the HST program never suggests three sets of anything in one workout, so if you don't do pullovers I still wouldn't add sets to the other exercises. I'd add one set of something else. My preference is for the pullover machine over dumbbells. I am able to hit the lats much harder, which...

    Am I Overtraining?

Thanks guys. You might be right about the caffeine. I never take supps with either caffeine or ephedra, but I do likey the coffee, especially before training. With my PM workout starting around 4:30, I'll have an extra cup around 4. I'll cut that one out and see if this helps. As far as anxiety...

Why do I feel like this on 2nd day following HST

Well, the obvious question is what do you mean by sh*tty? If you mean that you feel fatigued to the point of being too tired to do your regular daily routine, then my guess is you are overtaxing your CNS by either doing too many sets/exercises in the gym, pushing to failure or beyond, not...

    Am I Overtraining?

Hello all, I'm in the middle of my second HST cycle, and feel like I've been making good gains. My strength is up and my physique is definitely more muscular if not bigger. My goal is to add more mass for a bodybuilding contest next year, and so far HST has given me the gains that I’m looking...

    My HST Planner

I just finished my first two weeks of HST and I must say I'm really happy with my progress so far. I've been training (off and on) for years and have a pretty good sense of how my body responds, and it's definitely responding! I've been working on a spreadsheet that I use to plan the next two...

    Increments for REAR DELT??

For small increments, you could use magnets to stick on the end of your weights. Eight half pound magnets would give you 1/2 to 2 lb increments per dumbbell.
