Am I On The Money?

I am completing my second cycle with 10's this week and I realized that I have been approaching arms all wrong.  I am doing Machine preacher curls x 2 and elbows flared out tricep pushdowns x 2 (try saying that one three times fast!  Hee,hee!

I was thinking about doing only 1 set of M.P.C. and increasing the sets (including adding another tricep exercise) for triceps because they are a much longer muscle than the bicep.

I think I have read some articles and research on this...am I on the money?  I think I am...

Thoughts, please?

I would ditch both exercises. I have stopped doing direct arm work and even though they have always been a weak point, they have not stopped improving.

I believe load is key to making the muscle grow. There is no way the load on the biceps during a curl is going to be anywhere near weighted chins or bent rows.

If you want to do a direct triceps exercise do something that has a lot of stretch in the movement, like overhead extensions or skull crushers. I always get a good amount of DOMS with overhead triceps extensions, keeping upper arms high and close to head. This may not add any extra growth stimulus than weighted dips but it does blow my triceps up and I like doing it.

Wells...today I did 1 set Machine Preacher curls...I have included Tricep Dips (a compound exercise) as well as decline close-grip bench press. The pump was insane!
