Was just wondering if anybody has some good links to facts on this. Its not a carbohydrate thus no calories, hows this possible? What makes it sweet? How does the body treat it?

I drink Crystal Light with a couple meals a day, was just wondering.

But... wasn't it you who posted several links in this thread, links where among other things aspartame metabolism etc are explained ?

(note to self-> aspartame side-effect: loss of short-term memory :D)

Maybe hes looking for further information?

or maybe lack of aspartame causes short term memory loss.

Like I said. That was regarding the scare mongering and urban legends on aspartame. I was looking for more info on the actual details I was asking for above.

EDIT: Of course a bit of googling will always produce answers.

Unless you have the genetic defect for PKU, there's no risk to you. If you had the genetic defect, you'd already know it.
