Calories Per Pound

I have seen Bryan post several times that while bulking 18-20 cal/lb and cutting 10-20 cal/lb is "ideal." Granted, of course, this can be very subjective.

I think it should be 10-12 cal/lb not 20 :D for cutting

The problem with blanket statements about caloric requirements is that it is a numebr that varies from person to person and from condition to condition.

In other words, a person can maintain their weight on more than one level of caloric intake.

If you haven't seen it already, I would suggest you browse through the following article. It gives a couple different ways of determining how many calories you need. However wrote it seems to know what they're talking about.
