Chin ups

    I can't believe they didn't put THE warning on there. It's there, disguised as sort of a reference. I'm mostly a carpenter by trade, and I'll tell ya...most of your prefab door units are put in by helpers on a trim crew with #15 or even #18 brad nails from a gun. These are little wires and nothing more! To make it worse, the 'header' piece, that this piece of equipment hooks over is usually not even nailed, since it's connected to the side jamb casings by a nail or stab plate at the corners. If you do purchase on of these, you might want to get some 8d finishing nails and put about 3 or 4 into the header, spackle over the holes and repaint the casing, unless you want to find yourself slammed down on your ass with the device on top of your head. And some casing to replace.  [​IMG]
    A more radical option is the one I used, which uses an old barbell and drilling holes in the side jambs. Post #23:

    If you have space outside, you can use two 2X10's and an old cheap bar.
