my tendons in the shoulder (beginning of bicpes tendon) is inflamed...because of this i took 4 weeks off training

started again low - still hurt, mostly when doing benchpress and dips (chest is my weakest part anyway - praise the lord)

however - still hurt

took another 4 weeks off - lost allready 15lbs (praise the lord - the gain of 2 cycles)

body fat turns into the 18 % region (praise the lord - did i say that again?)

however, started again training this week with 15s

AND IT freakin dang STILL HURTS

what the hell shall i do??? it cant take that long to heal...?! any thing i can take to make it heal faster?

yeah- go see a sports doc. From what you describe, are you sure it's a biceps insertion problem and not a rotator cuff? In any event, shoulders are *really* tough customers- when I was an athletic trainer, only the most experienced trainers were allowed to deal with them, and for good reason- they are just about the most complicated joint in the body. Don't take chances with this- stop lifting and see a doc!

was at a doctors office

he told me that the biceps tendon in the shoulder is inflamed - and i should take some weeks off what i did without any sucess....he said such things are likely to become chronical and worse and it often gets also worse after a training break...

nope nothing

just recommended recovery therapy

aspirin could allready help?!

you see the problem, i did take more then enough time off and it didnt help so i guess another 4 week wouldnt help as well...and making a 6 month break or so would kill me (seriously - i allredy dont look like a 4 year lifter anymore)

You went to the wrong type of doctor. Family physicians are great for the flu but not for sports injuries. Get to a specialist before you do permanent harm. It does NOT have to get chronic and worse!

It is also often a misunderstanding that laying off exercise completely is the way to go...

Afaik, it's best to rest for a while, and then gradually start up again, doing high reps with very light weights.

Problem with the shoulder it's being used with about every exercise... So every exercise should be light..

But go and see a good physician... that would be the best advice.

Daxie and O&G are quite correct- go to a sports medicine doc. If s/he doesn't prescribe progressive resistance exercises and anti-inflammatories (aspirin's good, some people like the "profens" - ibuprofen, ketoprofen, etc.- better), then that should be a red flag for you. If you have a true tendonitis, mere rest alone won't help. All the best for a speedy recovery!

well that was a sports medicine doc - pretty much the most famous hospital in my town

i started with low weight and high rep sets - that actually made it worse imo...

i am just pissed of because it takes so long, i can see any improvement - it hurts just more even if i stop working out...

the shoulder doesnt really bother me, its the biceps tendon which is attached there - therefore no problems for shoulder exercises but pain as hell when doing any push exercises for chest such as benchpress or dips

Have you tried doing only the eccentric? My biceps tendon hurt a few month ago - not like you however -, I could still do eccentrics. I did a minimum for the biceps, it went away and I didn't lose.
