WTF? I went to the store to get a jump rope, of all things, and there sit Bowflex XT. My eyes bug out. Thing look nice.
So I says to da saleman, "I can try this?"
Him say "Yep!"
So's I sits, and he puts like 160 on it.
"Do a press" him say.
Boing boing boing. "I dunno man, this feels kinda funny."

"Progressive resistance. Here, try a curl."
Clank clank. Hmmm, cables too short. Ohh, bummer.

I happen to own a Bowflex, and am going to respond.

Ever try a cable press on a pully machine? So what if it feels different

You can do a lying curl, and lay closer to the pulleys.

Does a free weight set offer you
A:as many exercises
B:A compact gym that fits almost anywhere
Most people who complain about a bowflex have diffaculty understanding the thing, will not give it a chance, or use it in an improper context.
I have (when in shape) gone to a 8% body fat and increased my lean body mass by 20 lbs on one.

The problem is that I am way too big for a bowflex. AT 6'4" it isn't any good for me. The issue wasn't so much that the machine was bad, but that the saleman tried to get me to make a bad purchase. It simply would not have worked for me. No range of motion for the boxflex XT.

If I offended you I am sorry. My intention was to point out that it isn't exactly built for guys my size. I have used a bullworker before ( still have it) with excellent results. It is a very similar concept. But nothing beats free weights.
it's that simple.
