I started a 3rd cycle today after an 11 day SD.

I am taking creatine before the workout and lots of protein.

9/24/07 Morning weight= 179.5

Busy weekend at work so I started my workout around 11:30

Squat 75x15
T-Rows 25x15
W.Dips 5x15
Pulldowns 50x15 (Will be soon changed for Chins)
Military Press 50x15
Incline Bench 75x15
Curls 55x15
Extensions 60x15

One set only, and I may keep it that way. My last 2 cycles have strained my CNS pretty good. I think it is imperative to keep it basic and may drop the ISO's again as weight progresses. For the last 2 cycles I did an AM/PM split working pretty much the whole body in each session. My workload now is about 55 hours a week at a job plus 15 credits of school, so I think I will have better success with the one a day/ 3 times a week or so approach.

Thanks for reading.

I can barely handle 35 hrs of work + 17 credits....

thanks for the inspiration!

I appreciate that FearFactory.
I think it is important if your reality is constant movement like you and I have you need to cut back on volume a bit, but the intensity should be scorching. I have always been a huge volume guy, in fact I used to do a 20 set per bodypart approach and it was ok for me at the time because I had all the time in the world for eating, recovery, etc.

I love HST and Max-stim because it allows me to go after goals I may have abandoned.

I can barely handle 12 credits...

.

No seriously though man, you have my props for being able to handle all of that.

Thank you UFGatorDude30.
I have the leverage of a possible career change to keep me going. At the very least a diploma will give me a few options.

I really enjoy being out of school...

JTB, first time seeing your log. You were considering dropping your isolations a week ago. Why don't you save yourself some time and get rid of them now? Add extra volume to your heavier compound lifts.

Thanks Colby.

What would be your suggestion as far as adding volume to the compounds? I did stick with one set as I went into the tens with the iso's. It's funny with me, sometimes I really enjoy the iso's at the end of the workout and other times I feel it is a bit too much.

I appreciate any suggestions.

Monday October 15 2007

Squat 185x10
T-Row 90x10
Dips 55x10
Chins 5x10
Military 105x10
Incline Bench 145x10

Yeah, I dropped back to one set. It felt like a much crisper, focused workout. I was finding myself thinking about set two too much previously. Maybe it is my current state of affairs--Work-school-work repeat--. I would really appreciate any comments in regards to volume etc. I also have been entertaining the idea of switching to a strength/athleticism approach. After I finish my degree I am considering going to the State Trooper academy. I used to workout doing "Dinosaur Training" and have been thinking of returning to it after this cycle.

Thanks for any input.

Hey jtb,

Are you getting sore from these workouts? Just wondering because dropping to 1 set may or may not be enough volume to get the results you are looking for. Personally, I like to get a slight degree of soreness but not too much that it effects my next workout. Let us know how it goes.

Soflsun,

Little if any soreness. I dropped creatine a couple of days ago so it may change. I am "feeling" the muscle as I work it. I am decently satisfied with my muscularity--could always be bigger and of course a little more cut.

I am wondering if my current workload (Outside the gym) is knocking my energy levels down. I sometimes am studying at 3:00 am +. Do you think I have damaged my cycle by the cut in volume?

Thanks.
