KTA & HST

I am going to be going on a program called KTA for crush grip strength. I will do HST in the mornings, and KTA after school. I am pretty sure that KTA won't interfere at all with HST since it is a program solely for crush grip strength, and I am not training that on the HST program.

But, I just wanted to be sure. I have every other variable taken care of, and I'm pretty set on doing this. So, basically I just need someone to ensure me that this is okay.

Thanks,

I don't know what KTA is but I think when you are training for a specific sport, such as tennis, it is a good idea to have a supplemental program to address those specific muscles used.

KTA <--- maybe you could explain it or give a few links.

HST is muscular growth training system.  It is not specialized volume training like most strength programs are.

My take on it --->> If KTA is volume based, use a volume based training program with it.  Why waste your time if the systems don't compliment each other.

KTA is a grip based program. The only thing this would effect on HST is deadlifts. I would probably have to save my grip for KTA, so I'd have to use straps on deadlifts.

My grip program works great. I just progressively get a stronger grip as I go up on the weights. I can't imagine a spring squeezie thing being better than that.

Regardless, the threads been fun

Well, to each his own. I don't think it is possible to get as strong a grip I am looking for without directly training your crush, support, and pinch grip.

At least we can both agree on HST!

Dude, you are using KTA? That is awesome! The program is pretty extreme, but I have a friend that is following it and he has had great gains. I am kind of wary about the "hot/cold" cycling thing, and if your fingernails start to bleed when trying to close the COC #4, then you are pretty hardcore.

As for the HST, I have followed a mild version of KTA and have noticed little problem, even with the deadlift (although I am fairly weak and harldy go much over 200 on it). Let me know how it works for you.
