Please, lend a hand...

Judging by the speed this forum moves, I'm no doubt asking a question that's been asked a billion times already.
I apologize. I've read all of Byan's HST material and the 3 articles, and have many questions, but I'll try to keep it short.
I've also read through most of the FAQ forum as well, and many pages here. I'm exhausted from reading and searching.

Anyway... my question is...

The way Bryan sets up the routine in the 3rd article and the way he describes it everywhere else is greatly different, at least in my opinion.

In the article, he basically says to do (not completely sure, but it's something like this):
3 week cycles of 15s, 10s, 8s and 5s.

-No mention of negatives
-An additional microcycle
-3 weeks per microcycle
-a week inbetween microcycles where the maxes are established for the upcoming microcycle

Can't think of anything else right now, but those are some big differences from the plain and simple layout of 15/10/5/-5 and where you are required to know your maxes before the start of the (macro?)cycle.

I'd really appreciate some input on this.

-Which is a better one to follow?
-Is it all right to establish maxes as you go? (ie. take a week where you don't work out, besides for establishing maximums - as per the 3rd article)
-2 or 3 weeks?
-a microcycle of 8s - yay or nay?

I need to set this routine up for myself and a friend of mine; we're starting it in less than two weeks.

God, I am totally incapable of keeping things short... I'm sorry! haha

Those were written PRE-HST and although there is lot of good info in them that correlate Bryan has said that HST as defined on THIS website is what he recommends.

So go the article section Here and read these pages, use the info to set up your program.

Just a quick one...

Once the weight gets heavier (ie 10s and less) I've read that doing squats every day is no good?

So alternating between:

-Squats
-Leg press + good mornings or hyperextensions
-Squats

etc... each dash representing a day. I have lower back issues, and deadlifts I'd rather not attempt.

A grunt or approval or disapproval is all I ask. A viable change from squats every day?
