protein drinks

Just wondering if there's any reason to distrust the protein drinks that you see in stores these days by companies like "carb solutions." They seem to be similar to products sold by Met-Rx etc, and the ingredients list calcium caseinate and milk protein concentrate, but I remember how betrayed I felt when I first learned what hydrolyzed gelatin really was. Any chance that these drinks are made with some similar form of relatively useless protein like gelatin?

Although I won't comment on specific brand names, there can be a big difference in the quality and formulas of different "drinks".

Often times, companies who are primarily targetting the mass market will use inferior proteins and lots of sugar.

Your best bet is to compare the entire list of ingredients and note the order they appear in the list.
