Rinsing ground beef

If you have to live on a budget, like I do, anything you can learn that can help you to cut costs is good news. Firstly, avoiding pyrenes with spanish marinate ( spanish barbeque sauce ) and letting meat soak is a really good idea. Also, never eat burned meat. But this I did not know, and thought I would share it with the group.

Rinsing ground beef in hot water, after draining the grease from cooking can reduce the fat off the ground beef to the tune of about 90% lean. It only takes a short rinse with hot water after the meat has been cooked. Simply pour enough hot water into the pan to cover the meat and then drain.

Voila! Lean Ground Beef. Probably works with chicken and other meats as well.
