Those of us in the UK who quite enjoy the traditional Royal Institution Christmas Lectures might be interested to see the episode on Thursday 27th December at 7:15pm on Channel 5. While the lectures are mainly aimed at kids, the lecturers themselves are usually top-notch people in their field of expertise; they often touch on cutting-edge research and complicated subjects are explained in a way that is clear and understandable.

Here's a brief description of the Thursday show:

Royal Institution Christmas Lectures 2007
Episode 4, &quot;Fight, Flight and Fright&quot;

In his fourth lecture Dr Hugh Montgomery explains the mechanical adaptations of the human body that allow it to response to physical work. He describes the anatomy and physiology of the muscles and skeletal system and reveals how the muscles create force on bones. Plus, an insight into the differences between people in an effort to explain why some are able to run long distances.</div>

While there may not be anything in the show for the likes of Dan and Bryan, it's always interesting to see a program on regular TV that touches on a subject as interesting as this.
