I was wondering if anyone had info about where the creatine used is supplements comes from?
Without sounding disgusting, I assume they are fractionating it out of meat byproducts?
I know that a big source of whey proteins are the leftovers from cheese manufacturing -- an excellent use for something that was previously thrown away. But it sort of worries me that creatine, or other supplements, might be derived from butchering "leftovers" -- depending on the purification process, and the source, I'm a little bit paranoid about stray prions from reclaimed cow brains... (given the recent BSE scare...)
Sorry if that is gross, and I don't mean to cause hysteria, I just wonder if anyone knows where some of these things come from...?
