Unsweetened Yams

Does anyone know if they make UNsweetened canned yams or sweet potatos? I looked for them at Kroger, they had about 7 or 8 different brands, but all of them were canned in some type of sweet syrup. Should I give the healthy food store a try or do they just not make unsweetened canned yams?

In thinking about it, I don't think I've ever seen canned unsweetened yams- not to say they don't exist, I've just never seen them. The first place I'd try would be a health food store or something like a Whole Foods. I have to ask, though- why not cook them fresh? They can be baked, boiled, or microwaved, and they're really easy to do.

I guess i'm just lazy... I was thinking of adding a cup of yams per day to my diet, that would be about 2 good sized yams that I would have to cook/peel/mash
