    Adjustable Olympic Dumbells

I work out at home and I use Olympic dumbbell handles.  I do like them, but they are awkward and a bit cumbersome if you try to load the big plates on them.  When using heavier weights I use a barbell.   I don't have a problem with the length of the dumbbell handles and haven't had a problem...

Strict form or cheat a little?

I agree with all of you.  Mostly I was curious if anyone had trained this way and actually felt like it helped. I've tried the shrugs using a lot more weight and getting my body into it, but felt like my legs back were just picking up the extra load (like Totentanz said), so there didn't seem to...

Strict form or cheat a little?

What are your thoughts on this?  For hypertrophy, do you think its best to always use strict form no matter what, or should you sometimes cheat a little in order to use a heavier load?  Obviously some exercises don't really lend themselves to cheating, but a little cheating can be used safely on...

How much difference between start/end weight

I know this will vary depending on an individual's strength and the exercise used, but I'm curious as to how much of a weight difference there is between your starting weight in the 15's and your ending weight in the 5's/post 5's?

    Health risks

I know creatine caused muscle cramps for me when I took it a couple of years ago. I even had a muscle tear while using it, which is the only injury I've ever had while working out. I had no cramping or any other problems before using it and have had no problems since I stopped using it. I even...

It probably works pretty well too.

    Limited Equipment

Sure. I cut a 2x4 into 3 pieces, 2 short and one long. The two short pieces are spaced a couple of feet apart or so and parallel too each other. Then I nail the long piece on top of and perpendicular to the two short pieces. Its shaped like this, Calf block. Hopefully this helps. Frank

    Limited Equipment

I only have a power rack, Olympic set and adjustable bench. For calves I built a 'calf block' (or whatever you want to call it) with a 2 x 4 and I do one leg calf raises with one hand holding onto a weight plate and the other holding onto the power rack just for balance. Two leg calf raises...

    HSN MRPs are HERE

I too would be interested in seeing the supplement facts, just so I can see the complete nutritional information, servings per container, etc. Thanks

    Creatine and muscle cramps

Thanks for the reply Bryan. I can't help but think creatine played a part in it because the only time I have ever experienced muscle cramps, and injuries, was while I was taking creatine. I've never had muscle cramps when not using creatine. No one else has experienced cramping while using...

    Creatine and muscle cramps

A couple of years ago when I used creatine I had muscle cramps. I also suffered a slight tear in my left quad while squatting in a smith machine (which I don't use anymore)and a fairly bad tear in my left chest while doing flat dumbbell presses. I wasn't even pushing myself that hard when these...
