Swolecat - Bryan, would appreciate your input!

So your opinion is that it doesn't really matter whether or not you have two meal plans, eat carbs even if you're inactive, and seperate carbs and fats? And as for a cheat day, not very useful unless you're going to make it extended for 48-72 hours?

Swolecat - Bryan, would appreciate your input!

Has anyone ever heard of him or tried his programs? I can never seem to nail down a solid diet. I'm always skeptical of various things. I know some things SC advocates are: 1) Training & Non-training meal plans 2) Separating carbs & fats (despite controversey, he says it works) 3)...

    Insulin sensitivity

So Bryan, basically, eat for activity? If it's an off-day (no weights and no cardio) then you should probably eat more fats and proteins rather than carbs, correct?

    Insulin sensitivity

How does the BG monitor work? Do you have to draw blood? What would one with high sensitivity to insulin do in terms of dieting? Moderate? Low?

    Westside Routine - Criticism needed

Trying to get a friend of mine set up with a Westside routine. He's not a newbie entirely, but more ready to make the transition between a newbie and intermediate lifter, so I decreased the volume of the standard Westside routines that I've seen (6-8 sets of 8-12 reps was ridiculous...

    Whey Protein Only

Just less conveinent, and I'm satisfied with shakes. Blenders work wonders, so I try to use mine as much as possible. It allows me to bring my meals in a thermos to class and work so I can still follow a diet. I just hope it works.

weight gainer + vitamin + fish oil

Awful as in tasting bad? Nah. It tastes pretty awesome, actually. If you mean awful as in it not being adequate - again, say why. I don't want answers without reasons behind them. If it's bad, I want to know why it's bad, and why it should be changed.

weight gainer + vitamin + fish oil

Chupa, why not give some reasons behind what you say? Either that, or don't say anything at all. I don't need or want empty criticism. Aaron, perhaps? Oats - low gi, source of fiber, carbs Oils - Almost a 1:1 ratio of Omega6:Omega3 acids. Saff is high in O6's, flax has it's own benefits, and...

weight gainer + vitamin + fish oil

What about a diet consisting of... 400g oatmeal 11 Fish Oil Caps 2 tbsp Flax Oil 1 tbsp Saff Oil 32 oz. milk 4 scoops whey Plus training days - 30g dextrose and 2 more scoops of whey And then possibly a scoop or two of casein at night. This has all real food, basically. A multivit could...

    Whey Protein Only

Bryan, should I possibly use Milk Protein Isolate before bed and during the day along with some whey at other times, just to make sure? Or it won't really matter?

    Whey Protein Only

I eat every 4 hours. I use 8 oz. of milk, 100g oats (2.25 servings), and a scoop of whey protein in every shake. Three of them have fats. Either 11 fish oil caps (taken on the side) or a tbsp of flax or safflower oil thrown in. I figure the fiber from the oats and the fats in the other three...

    UF Researcher Unlocks Secrets

It says he unlocks secrets, yet none of that was a secret. In fact, it sounds like complete waste, to me. "More importantly, however, overuse of the supplement can lead to kidney problems." I love how "studies" claim things like this and then do nothing to back it up...

    Pasta vs. Wholewheat Pasta

It's cooked, of course. It's not as much as you'd think, since it's my main source of carbs (along with some WW bread)
  15. T

    Pasta vs. Wholewheat Pasta

People always say the WW pasta is better. If you look at the ingredients though, it's 100% enriched semolina with both. The WW just has wheat germ added for extra fiber and such. So, is there really a big deal? It's twice the cost for the WW pasta, and it's just so much easier to use the...

    Carbs & Fats Mixed

Isn't there some type of test you can do with your blood to determine how sensitive you are to insulin? Anyone wanna point me to how to do this? I remember one on John Berardi's site, but I don't know how accurate it is. Through that, I believe it was able to determine approx. how many...

    Carbs & Fats Mixed

You're kidding? I read that, and actually grasped some of it but... I don't think it actually answered the question. If it did, I totally missed it. Did learn some things though. Aaron, grace us with an answer, maybe?
