    BAD 1ST CYCLE RESULTS

If I was eating too little my waist measurement wouldn't have stayed the same...it should have come down atleast a little. Randy

    BAD 1ST CYCLE RESULTS

Maybe I'm missing something that's fundamental to this program that may account for the very poor results for my first cycle. I'd very much appreciate it if some experienced folks can give me some feedback. The negatives: 1)  Lost a whopping 3 inches on my chest 2)  Lost 1/2 inch on upper arms...

    Board thickness for Squat

That's my goal, too, jsraaf. Thanks for the tip on the wedge shape. I'll set a 2x4 up on it's edge and rip it with the blade at about 25 deg on my table saw. I'll probably get some strange looks when carrying this into the Y for workouts. Randy

    Board thickness for Squat

Thanks, Pauly, I'm aware of the potential danger. I'm very much a stickler for form so I'll monitor it closely. Still need opinions on the board thickness. Randy

    Board thickness for Squat

I'm going to use a board to elevate my heels on squats for the upcoming cycle to reduce glute and increase quad involvement. Any suggestions on the thickness of this board? Would a 2x4 (1.5 in actual thickness) be too high? Thanks, Randy

    No DOMS after negatives

Thanks for the replies, guys. edziu, I'm doing negatives as the program suggests...right after 2 wks of 5s. I'm working out Mon, Wed & Fri (switched from doing (2) 2-day splits/wk back in the 15s). Maybe that's what's happening...I'm conditioned to the point of not being sensitive to this...

    two simple questions

Is kangaroo red meat? :) What makes red meat sooooooo tastey IS the fat, imho. Take away the fat and you're left with dry leathery stuff that can't compete with the taste of chicken/turkey. Randy

    two simple questions

It will make a BIG difference...alot less animal fat...that's a good thing. Think beyond big muscles. Randy

    I cannot get the burn

I have this same problem and posted it before in this forum. It was suggested to me to try 3 sec concentrics and 1 sec eccentrics. I had a little more success with this but still was not able to get a burn on all exercises. Give it a try. Randy

    No DOMS after negatives

I've done 2 WOs of negatives but have experienced absolutely no DOMS. My intensity levels are very high on these...I'm not dogging it in anyway. In nearly all exercises my 2RM is NOT enough to challenge my eccentric strength so I've even upped the weights from there...some substantially (40%...

    How many sets/exercise on negatives

I'm starting negatives tomorrow. I didn't see in the fact anything regarding the number of sets for negatives. I've been doing 2 work sets for the entire cycle (plus drops on 5s) should I continue with 2 sets or drop that to 1? Any other tips on negatives would be greatly appreciated. The...

Joint aches after last WO of 5s

I thought I just posted this but it disappeared somehow. If it shows up in some other forum, apologies. I just finished the 6th session of 5s and some of my joints are aching a little more/longer than normal. I've been doing 2 work sets and a drop set for each of about 12 exercises. I've been...

Ordered first HSN protein supp today

No offense to anyone, but let me ask the obvious question then. Why would you WANT to buy the products at another site rather than this one? Are the product prices and shipping costs cheaper? And if so, why? Randy

Ordered first HSN protein supp today

I was hoping Bryan would chime in on the creatine cycling thing so I asked again. But what about ordering primer/driver from this site? Are there some issues I'm not aware of? Thanks, Randy

Ordered first HSN protein supp today

What am I missing here? Why didn't you order the protein from this site, Calkid? And Bryan, can you please clarify the creatine cycling report in your last newsletter? Randy

    Clarification on Creatine cycling

Whether or not to cycle creatine was the subject, though, and I'm not sure what is being recommended by this research group or how Bryan is interpretting the info. Thanks, Randy

    Clarification on Creatine cycling

Bryan included research results regarding creatine cycling in issue #08. I'm not entirely sure what is being recommended here. From the discussion section: "From the results of this most recent study, there would be no reason to cycle creatine for up to 2-4 months." Um, is cycling...

    2 day split

Not only that, but you'll have more strength for the isolation exercises because the biceps or triceps won't already be fatigued from the compound movements. I changed my old 4-day split to do this very thing and my arms made a notable improvement. On a 2-day split performed thrice weekly it's...

    Misc questions regarding 5s

But that's 5-10 mins PER exercise (or atleast per muscle group) right, Blade? Randy
