AF,
I am in a fat loss cycle right now (I have actually maintained my start weight and have improved composition). Would adding CHO to the pre-meal have any detriments? If not what type of carbs? Thanks.
I have a scoop of whey isolate and my creatine about 15-20 minutes before my workout. So I am getting 20g of protein before I start. I used to go in fasted, but I have seen a difference in the pre-WO meal than fasted.
I work out early (5AM) and eat lots of protein and carbs in the AM. In the PM I drop my carbs significantly, lunch is either/or. I don't know if I am getting any additional benefit or not but it is an interesting self-experiment. ;)
As Micmic said just stick to good, wholesome foods, especially at your (perceived) young age. Worry about supplements later, they make the 1% difference.
If I took in that much CHO I would be a fat slob, I think that is very individualized. Who needs 140g CHO in the WO period anyways, that is my common sense principle kicking in. :D
So is there any benefit to nutrient partitioning during the day like Wedge stated. Will eating high carb post-WO and then low carb rest-of the day effect body comp or have a negligible effect as I suspect?
Aaron/Micmic,
What about usage of Zn/Mg with chronic exercise? I know that high intensity exercise can use Zn/Mg at higher levels than "Joe Average". I get some from a MVI but no MVI has good amounts, usually <50% RDA. My diet can be crappy at times due to being away from quality...
I would take it for medicinal effects. Why use ASA as a secondary prevention when it can be used as a primary? I already take 1 TBSP of cod liver oil a day, just wondering if the anti-inflammation effects were similar.
Is adding a low dose aspirin a good idea? I know some cons are GI complications and possible T decreases (prog. production). Positives are the health benefits in regards to heart disease and cancers. Is there similar effects with fish oil supplements? Thank you in advance.
Keep on keeping on
Pure grape juice is extremely close to pure glucose. I would put that in your PWO shake if that is a concern. That probably makes little difference though I am sure gatorade is fine. For GI index a good rule of thumb is the more processed a food, the higher the GI will be.
BigJ,
I did a ABCDE program about 5 years ago, I didn't gain any muscle size. I would put on 15 pounds and then lose 15 pounds. I guess it works for some and not others. :D . It was fun to eat like a pig though.
Fausto,
I don't know if I have incredible tricep development. but I had to switch to a CG BP/JM press hybrid for my tri's. I developed some medial epi. during the 15's  I easily develop medial epi so I try to get away with tri ext until I develop pain. I try to do lots of FA...
I am thinking of adding Tyrosine to my next cycle as I want to attempt to get my BF down to the 8-10% range. Has anyone seen good results with a Tyrosine addition to caffeine? I was thinking of taking 1 gram with caffeine. I am not too fond of ephedrine as I tend to have some side effects...
