    Lesson from the Amish

heh yeah - as one person i showed this to said: "So... are they saying that they now think EXERCISE can keep you from getting FAT? No way!" what i found particularly interesting was the average caloric intake of these people - 3600 calories!

Yep - remember this thread? http://www.hypertrophy-specific.com/cgi-bin....2;t=547 btw your cottage cheese/yoghurt suggestion is working out nicely - pepper is my condiment of choice :) My diet consists of eggs, bananas, lots of rice (2 large bowls a day), almonds, grapes, a can of tuna mixed...

    Important question

thanks for the thoughtful reply dianabol - as usual your posts are a paradigm example of quality messages :) I could see how nutritional requirements would spill over into the off days, since protein synthesis is active; however, the amount of energy spent (unless one is doing cardio), would be...

    Important question

Bodybuilding is a complex endeavour, and requires different forms of investment. To fulfill nutritional requirements, one has to devote time, attention, and mental effort to simply learning about them; then, to logistically succeed in acquiring, preparing, and consuming the meals. Not to mention...

caloric intake on workout vs off days

I'm trying to rearrange my diet, and one thing i've always been a bit unsure of is how much more i should be eating on the gym days, versus rest days. Any general guidelines on this?

    creatine

one sorta quirky way i can think of is this: creatine increases water retention, therefore if you don't compensate by drinking more water, you will experience an increased level of dehydration/thirst. This may have an effect on appetite if you don't compensate.

    Major Help w/ diet

not really sure what you want/need help with. Perhaps if you gave us your exact diet, along with your concerns, you'd glean a useful response. You've indicated your goals, but have not said much else - i.e. have u failed before with this sort of diet?

    Milk dilemma

Thanks for the suggestion Jon - however remember I drank 2.5 litres of milk a day - about 1250 calories worth, and about 110 grams worth of protein. In order to match this with your proposal, i'd need to drink about 5 litres a day, which would be financially impractical. Protein isn't a prob...

    water fasting

Water fasting apparently helps the body naturally rid itself of toxins. Such toxins can apparently be involved in a host of undesirable conditions, and in some cases, be the ultimate cause. I think in arthritis the logic is that the toxins in the joint induce autoimmune responses that result in...

    water fasting

i've read of studies that show that water fasting is the most effective way of reducing high blood pressure. I've also read that it's an effective treatment for many diseases including arthritis. Do you have any information regarding its inefficacy in these contexts?

    Milk dilemma

mmm that's a great idea dianabol! I've never eaten cottage cheese before but am keen to start. I think i will try what you said. Cheese is also a good idea - i'll try to find a cheese that suits me to supplement a meal or 2, and save the yoghurt drink for another, and top the other meals with a...
