Can I use cod liver oil (1 teaspoon per day) instead of fish oil supplement? As my weight is 65Kg I should take 2-3 g. of them.

The recommended intake of Omega-3's per day is 2-6g. One teaspoon will provide you with about 1-1.3g.

Ok but can i consider Cod liver oil a good omega3 source?
I ask this only because I already have it at home and I wondered if it could subsitute the omega3 pills sold as supplements.

Yes, it is the best omega-3 supplement IMO. If you want to use the pills, make sure they contain DHA and EPA (this is only found in fish oil, and not in e.g. flaxseed oil which is also considered a good omega-3 source).

keep in mind that cod liver oil contains significant amounts of vitamin A and D, which are fat-soluble and thus can accumulate to toxic levels in the body if you take significantly large amounts daily (i'm guessing more than 1.5 TBSP), and particularly in the summertime and if your complexion is light.

It's debatable, For the vitamin A overdose I can't remember the exact numbers but if I remember correctly four tablespoons will still leave you at less than half the dose were toxicity can start to happen. People for some weird reason mistake the RDA with the upper safe limit when it has nothing to do with that. I have been taking two tablespoons for a very long time with no problems whatsoever. I do reduce to one in the summer when I go a lot to the beach in order to reduce my vitamin D intake.

I have also been taking in two tablespoons a day of cod liver oil. How does everyone else manage to down it? I think I have mastered it by placing it in a cup with equal or more lemon juice. Holding breath while I drink it then eating some sweat fruit (dried dates work good). If you do it right you can't taste nor feel the oil. Well a little does get on your lip.

Mine is pretty tasteless and doesn't smell much either. Maybe you could try some different brands?

Yeah I have been trying different brands, they all seem so far to be pretty much the same. I suppose they have all been relatively tasteless and you can't smell it unless you place your nose right up to the cup. I just don't like the feeling of oil, that is my main reason of adding the lemon juice. That way since the oil floats on top it doesn't coat my mouth with it. I also did this when I was taking flax oil. Although I would just throw it in a class of orange juice and there would be no taste and oil feeling. I actually used to enjoy cod liver oil when I was really young I have been told. My parents used to feed it to the dog and I would force them to give me some. Honestly the taste is not what bothers me since it kind of tastes like some really strong fresh water fish. You can almost pretend that you are eating a nice fish dinner, almost
