Does testosterone levels influence optimum protein

I read that pro bodybuilders could benefit from higher protein intakes (1.5-2g protein/pound bodyweight) because testosterone increases protein synthesis. If true, does this mean that a person with low testosterone levels e.g. an old man, doesn't need as much protein to grow?

aging alters things in other ways, but higher testosterone can result in raised amino acid reutilization, so higher levels of protien may not be needed inspite of raised levels of synthesis.
