Hotterdog 4th repeat cycle

04 Apr 08 wk 5 day 3

1) barbell squats: 195 ibs
2) incline barbell press: 170 ibs
3) gironda sternum chins : 10, 9, 6
4) barbell military press: 120 ibs
5) barbell shrugs: 195 ibs
6) barbell curls : 100 ibs
7) deadlifts: 275 ibs x 6

realised i forgot my triceps when i was done.
overall another good workout.
i realised i actually up my chest poundages
by accident since day 1 of this wk when i forgot
to bring my log sheet to the gym. so it's now 10ibs
actually higher which wasn't planned.

not sure if i wanna put it in my nxt workout yet.

07 Apr 08 wk 6 day 1

1) barbell squats: 195 ibs
2) incline barbell press: 170 ibs
3) gironda sternum chins : 11, 8, 6
4) barbell military press: 120 ibs (smith)
5) barbell shrugs: 195 ibs
6) close grip bench press : 200 ibs
(added 5 ibs due to smith)
7) alt dumbbell curls: 10 kg x 10 x 2
8) standing calf raises: 320 ibs x 8 x 3

passed on deadlifts (yeah i know i shouldn't skip
but i din eat enough today so i rather save it for
wed) dun flame me...

09 Apr 08 wk 6 day 2

1) barbell squats: 205 ibs (spotter)
2) incline barbell press: 180 ibs (smith, spotter gone)
3) gironda sternum chins : 10, 10, 6
4) barbell military press: 130 ibs
5) barbell shrugs: 205 ibs
6) barbell curls: 110 ibs x 5
(then dropped it to 95 ibs x 5 x 2 no strength)
7) deadlifts : 285 ibs x 4 (+1 grip slipped)

right now, my butt hurts like hell esp my butt cheeks.
everything was pretty fine though i could feel
all my joints straining under all the poundages
in every ex.

hell arrived when i did my deadlifts, for the 1st 4 reps
before my grip slipped, everything was still under control.
when i tried for my final rep after restrapping, it felt
like i was trying to move a mountain.... my entire body
froze up esp my butt area.

after i let the weight back to the floor i could feel
my butt cheeks & part of my upper body ard e traps
totally tighten up & i just kinda squatted on the floor
for a good whole 5 to 10 seconds before getting up
& holding on to something again freezing for another 10
seconds. tot i was going to get a stroke right there & then.

why did i have such an experience? is my CNS on the
verge of being overfried?

It was probably partially mental due to the grip problem...partially physical due to the FACT THAT YOU DO DEADS LAST and that's heavy for you I think.  Plus, I don't think it's that abnormal to need 10-15 seconds to catch your breath and rebalance when using heavy weights.  Did you eat enough?
 
well, food wise, i believe i did. in fact, i added 20g extra
of oats in my pretraining meal.

sequence of deadlifts, i normally do it end of everything
as it's prob due to habit & after tat i'm totally zapped.
but i do agree that e weight is heavy by my standards.

ever tried doing deadlifts at the start & e rest of my
workouts kinda got affected.
 
11 Apr 08 wk 6 day 3

4) barbell military press: 135 ibs (up it by 5 ibs)
5) barbell shrugs: 205 ibs
6) close grip bench press: 205 ibs (1st set was smith,
last 2 free weights)
7) standing calf raises: 320 ibs x 8 x 3

keeping biceps & delts for morow in the office gym.

i think i really hit e max of wat my body can take.
after tomorrow's workout, i'll take e week off.

i'll start a 3 day traditional split called "shut up" program

i'll come back to HST after a couple of cycles.
just wanna feel wat it's like to be doing traditional
splits again. been quite a while.

just trying to stretch my training a little bit more.
did some dumbbell work in e office gym today.

1) side lateral raises: 12.5 kg x 10 x 1 (found tat it's
too heavy at this time in e morning 10+)
10 kg x 10 x 3 (e 12.5 kg set no count)

2) rear lat machine 60 ibs x 10 x 3

3) alt dumbbell curls: 10 kg x 12 x 1
12.5 kg x 10 x 1, 15 kg x 6 x 1

yeah dun look like HST but even w this
found tat body like really taxed. think i've
reached end of the road for this cycle.

oh well, i'll do a week of SD & start the
"shut up" traditional 3 day splits before returning
to HST.

I"ll BE BACK !!!!
