I have always used ww pasta or oats, but am considering something more glycemic, such as ww bread or even dextrose- oppinions?

If your workouts are no longer than 60-90 minutes it shouldn't make any difference. Even a dose of maltodextrin will last about 45 minutes.

Would the same apply to pre-cardio? Or would low glycemic choices make more sense, for potential fat oxidation?

I personally would not use any carbs pre-cardio. The insulin response will interfere with fat mobilizaiton. That is if fat loss is your goal. If your goal is to increase "fitness" I would try to keep glycogen levels high and then use a complex carb meal about 1 hour before exercise.

Ok. Well I'm not concerned with cardio performance so much.

But one thing I should have mentioned, I am also bulking... So do you still say no pre-cardio carbs?

I appreciate your help. :)

If you're bulking go ahead and use carb pre-cardio until you have reached the maximum amount of cardio you are going to do. I mean, if you are still increasing the amount of cardio you are doing, keep the carbs pre-workout.

Once oyu are doing as much cardio as you want to do, go ahead and cut out the pre-cardio carbs, and move them post cardio. That was you will get a better lipolytic response, yet still repplace the glycogen afterwards.

Ok I will definitly stop pre cardio carbs then.

Should I be concerned about catabolism?-I kind of am.

Maybe a good time for added bcaa's?
