Low carb

Hi Eveyone,
Can someone explain why when on a low carb high protein diet you seem to sweat more, even when not doing much.
Thanx in advance Calum.. :)

I get the same thing occasionally

Maybe maximising lipolysis causes a sweating reaction somewhere in the entire equation.

Digesting protein has a higher thermic effect than digesting carbs or fat (Ive heard its as much as double).

Your gut is burning more calories (and therefore producing more heat) just absorbing and digesting the stuff. Maybe this is enough to push your core temperature up enough to sweat?

Even with matching protien intakes i still get this.
also the thermic effect of protein isnt done in the gut, digesting protien requires as much effort as digesting sugars etc. The main thermic effect of protein comes in the liver, where a large percentage of the non-essentail aminos are deaminated and used elsewhere (glucose, krebs cycle intermediates etc)
