im review my pre/post workout nutrition strategies and am re-reading articles on this site...
from Lyle in the HST FAQ -
Pre workout shake containin 25-30 grams of carbs and 15 grams of protein.
Post workout shake containing about 1 g/kg carbs and 30 grams of protein or so.
(for me this would be about 170g carbs post workout)
Eating for Size Article -
20g protein (1 scoop primer), 20g carbs pre workout
20g protein (1 scoop driver), 40g carbs post workout
Pre/Post Nutrition Article -
No exact pre/post protein recommendation given.
"0.7 - 1.0 gram of carbohydrate per kilogram body weight be consumed
immediately after exercise and then again 1-2 hours later"
for me, this roughly equals 170g carbs post workout and then another 170g carbs 1-2 hours later.
"Try to shoot for a total of 7-10 grams of carbohydrate per kilogram
of body weight over a 24-hour period 3 for maximum glycogen storage."
what does this even mean: "over a 24-hour period 3" ??
Are the carb recommendations in this article correct?
My goal is mass gain at all costs. Im using 50g carbs + creatine, 30g protein pre workout and 50g carbs + 30g protein post workout. Is this fine? The Pre/Post Nutrition article has me confused about carbs.

Well, do you really weigh 170kg or 170lbs ? If you're 170lbs, then you should have roughly 75g carbs (lbs/2.2 = kg - kg * 2.2 = lbs)

Hope that kind of clears up a little misunderstanding that could quickly lead to obesity ;)

ah thank you sir : )

still, the following makes little sense to me:

"Try to shoot for a total of 7-10 grams of carbohydrate per kilogram of body weight over a 24-hour period 3 for maximum glycogen storage."
what does "over a 24-hour period 3" mean?
